The Matter Should Be Taken Up At The Highest Level

Oil tankers came under heavy shower of stones thrown by unknown persons from different persons near Senapati despite security personnel escorting them. Why were they attacked and who attacked them? What are the demands of those responsible for carrying out the attacks? This needs to be understood. Everyone is groping in the dark why the attack carried out in such manner?

The Government cannot turn a blind eye to the issue. The matter should receive the attention of the highest authority of the land. Providing security escort without knowing why it becomes a necessity is just like blind man describing the structure of an elephant. The Government should look into the matter from all angles until it knows why it happens.

Peace continues to elude the state, because there are large numbers of elements who do not want the state return back to normalcy. Manipur and its people have been strangulated. The motive of those whoever they are responsible for imposing terms and conditions for running the NH No 39 is loud and clear.

Amazingly the Government of Manipur is neglecting the issue as if it is a small one. It is time the state Government thinks of solving the matter with firm hand. The matter is serious; it should not slip out from the hands. Delay will mean the state plunging deeper and deeper in the sea of problems. The people have suffered a lot. The Government has to issue a clarion call to all those whoever is responsible for imposing such ban to feel the gravity of the situation.

A state in turmoil will not be in the larger interest of all. This has to be felt by one and all. It is time the Government of Manipur thinks of involving the Union Government in finding lasting solution to such problems which come up following the ban imposed on the movement of vehicular traffics on the national highways passing through the state of Manipur.

It so happens that all these bans are always related with money, if the Union Government can reflect some crores of rupees in the plan money for these organizations responsible for imposing ban, will peace return to the national highways in particular and the state as a whole. After all if a few crores of rupees can buy peace for the entire state, of the state the people of the state will not oppose such idea.

Peace is the need of the hour. Unfortunately the problems happening in the state never find the solution. In this age of civilization Manipuris are existing hellish way of life unable to move freely. Only a strong and powerful Government can ensure a new lease of life to the Manipuris.

It is time the Government shows its commitment to tackle the various menacing problems, which have come cropping up. Do we have that Government which has the commitment to find lasting solution to these problems created by elements that are not opposed peaceful coexistence of all?
