16- Eleven cadres of NSCN (IM) were killed in an ambush by 12 IRB patrol team near Pallel in Thoubal district while Two PLA activists arrested in New Delhi and imprisoned under POTA.
18- six day long first session of the state assembly begins in Imphal, Chandel Deputy Commissioner Yambem Thamkishore has been kidnapped by a hill based outfit in Chandel .the outfit also seized 8 weapons from the escort party of the DC.
23- SPF Ministry re-expanded with the induction of 11 ministers including lone Lady Cabinet Minister.
29- Chandel DC Yambem Thamkishore released from the captivity of the UKLF.

April

9- Four personnel of 121Bn CRPF killed in an ambush carried out by PLA at Pangei in Imphal east. In retaliatory fire by CRPF, 2 civilians including a girl student were also killed. Judicial Inquiry demanded on the following day.

Abduction attempt of Francis Ngajokpa's (a Naga Minister) youngest son foiled at Lamphelpat.

Victor Keishing son of Rishang Keishing was abducted by armed youths from a place in Ukhrul district.
