The National Award was awarded by the Research and Development (Small Scale Industries, SSI) here in Delhi with a sum of Rs 10,000, other citations and a trophy as the only Manipuri lady entrepreneur for this year along with other national awardees from different parts of the country.

Dressed in her own designs and creation with a traditional blend, “Aruna” was optimistic that in future and with the advancement of technology, she would be able to enhance and beautify her creations in tune with the present trends. She had designs many types of attire for models, Miss Contestants, and lately, “Album actresses” in for Manipuri in Manipur and Delhi.

Her aim to promote her products world-wide, though strong and determined had been hampered by people who should be responsible for the growth of the state and the country, she admitted and further cited the incident of how she had been trying to meet some of the top officials here in Delhi. She said her messages for an appointment with the concerned authority failed and lay wasted on the tables of those who are responsible for receiving at the reception counters.
